Jose Karlo's, My Lost and Found Area For Today

Last night I started to crave for some foods despite of my plan to go on a diet. I still need to explore Tacloban for some restaurants and cafe. My coworker told me that people here loves to eat.

I know a few places here but haven't really tried them. Currently, I am a regular ZenTea customer that even some of the baristas know me by my face and they know my profession (thanks to my uniform).

So last night my plan was to visit a certain cafe named "Grelio's". Saw it somewhere in Google while searching for Sunzibar menus.

Looking at the photo of their cheesecake made me crave for some. So I decided to have a visit this afternoon instead of grabbing a cup of coffee at Bo's Coffee (because I believe it is cheaper than Bo's)

However, I wasn't able to locate the place despite of my long walk around Real St. and Justice Romualdez. Theis facebook page says it is located at Real St. but the map shows it is situated somewhere at Justice Romuladez.

So I ended up at Jose Karlo's Coffee after a long walk. It is located beside Sto.Nino Church. If my memory serves me right, this is my 3rd visit. First was with my mom and aunt after our Sunday mass. Then 2nd was with my sister, again after our Sunday mass.

They have pastas, sandwiches, muffins and cakes. I haven't tasted their pastas but I like their Adobo pandesal. This time I ordered for a carrot cake and Mescoccino Karlo. The carrot cake is not that tasty as I expected and the icing was too sweet for me. However the Mescoccino Karlo has somewhat a taste of coffee + choco which is favorable for me.

Next time I will try another cafe searching for what suites my taste. After all I am now a Taclobanon and I must find my cravings here, cravings that I used to have back in Manila.

Chapter 2: Park Yuchun

"Maria, Ave MariAAA!!!" birit ng isang dalagang nasa kalagitnaan ng voice lesson.
"Ano bayan, ayusin mo naman, 'wag galing sa lalamunan, dapat sa diaphragm." usal ng kanyang gurohabang dinedemo kung saan dapat manggaling ang boses.
"O sige, one more time."
"Maria!!! *ubo.ubo*"
"Tama na nga, bukas na lang ulit." sabi ng guro habang nagliligpit ng piyesa.

Taon nang nagtuturo si Yuchun ng voice lesson sa mga taong nais matuto. Kasama ang kanyang organ at mga piyesa, nagtayo siya ng maliit na studio sa ilalim ng tulay ng Nagtahan. Mahilig siyang magsulat ng mga awit na tila hanggang sa papel na lamang.

*gurgling sound*
Naisip na ni Yuchun na umuwi ngunit dahil narinig niya ang pagkulo na kanyang tiyan, naisipan niyang dumaan sa kalapit na karinderia.

"Just once, can we find the way to finally make it right, OoohhHH!!!"
"Anu ba 'yan, ba't ganun yung kumakanta” usal ni Yuchun habang namimili ng ulam.
"Hayaan mo na, oh, anu ba order mo Yuchun?” tanong ni Aling Maria
"Adobo nalang po" sagot ni Yuchun
"Kamusta naman pagtuturo mo?" tanong ni Aling Maria habang nagsasandok ng adobo.
"Mahina nga po eh."
"Oh, eto na adobo mo, hayaan mo, irereto kita sa mga maghahanap."
"Salamat po." sabay kuha ng kanyang adobo.

Paguwi ni Yuchun, hinanda na niya ang kanyang ulam sa hapag-kainan. Mag-isa lamang siyang naninirahan sa kanyang tahanan, kasama ang kanyang aso na si Bantay. Maliit lamang ang kanyang bahay. Nakatayo lamang ito sa gilid ng riles.

"Ringg..."
"Hello, oh bakit?" sagot ni Yuchun sa kanyang cellphone
"Oh sige, mga 4pm nalang."
"Ok sige, bye."

Pagbalik niya sa hapag-kainan, nawala ang adobo niya. Pagsilip sa ilalim ng mesa, kinain na pala ni Bantay. Wala na siyang magawa kundi kumain nalang ng kanin na may toyo at asin.

"Hay.. Ang hirap ng buhay, kalian ba ako giginhawa?" bulong niya sa sarili habang nagpapahinga sa upuan.
At unti-unting dumilim ang paligid.

new look

Yay!!
Well not actually new look. I just edited some parts of this blog especially the infos.

So it's been 4 months since I last had an entry. Too many things changed for the past months. One big change in my life is that I am now residing at my mom's birthplace, Tacloban City Leyte.

I am not living with my mother nor with my family. I am currently living at their old house together with my aunt and cousins. I actually have my own room here (which is still quite a mess).

I am now working as a nurse at the neuroscience department in a new hospital here.

I actually miss Manila, I miss my home, my family, etc.

CNBLUE tomorrow at Manila. Ouch! Too bad I'm going to miss the concert....
