Bang Yong Guk and Zelo - Never Give Up

I love the song. I was expecting something intense like Yong Guk's style, but this is cool and refreshing..

And Hyosung was so gorgeous

Apple's iPod Nano recall

So recently, Apple had its recall of iPod nano 1st generation.

I own a black iPod nano which was a birthday gift from my cousin 5 years ago. He's from US, so literally it was bought from US. It was one of my favorite gadgets. I usually have it with me especially when I'm out. No dull moment with my iPod.

I noticed the battery gets drained easily. And lately, it only takes 2-3 hours for my iPod's battery life. Also, whenever I charge it on my PC, the back always heats easily (also when I use it). My boyfriend told me to stop using it because it may have a battery problem and might explode any moment. And yes, according to apple, iPod nano's battery are on recall program because it overheats and might explode. They are requesting their customers to stop using it to prevent any accidents.

So yeah, I tried the online support of Apple to check if my iPod is eligible for their replacement program. I just typed my iPod's serial number (which is found at the back).

I was asked to enter my country, but since Philippines was not listed, I tried using United States.
Then I was asked to enter my iPod's serial number. According to the site, if your iPod is included at the replacement program, you will be asked to enter your Apple ID.
After I entered the 11 digit serial number, the next page asked me for my Apple ID.
I don't have any Apple ID so I just made one, right at that moment.

After having my Apple ID and entered it, I was asked from where country do I live, and again, there was no Philippines.
My hopes were gone. Then I suddenly planned to email my cousin if I could send my iPod back to him so I could use their house address for the replacement of my iPod.

Then my boyfriend told me to try the service centers here in Philippines.
Before going to a specific service center, I tried to look up at the internet for similar cases here in Philippines. And yes, it led me to 2 specific service centers where I could have my iPod checked and be replaced by Apple.

Power Mac Greenbelt 3
Power Mac Trinoma

According to some users, they were told that the iPod will be replaced for around 6 weeks.

So this coming Monday, I'll be going to Greenbelt 3 and have my iPod checked and replaced.
I don't care how long will it take. Just replace my iPod cause I don't want my beloved iPod to explode.
RIP to 500+ songs, I'll just put you back on my iPod once it will be replaced.

UPDATE 12/5/11

So I brought my dear iPod at Power Mac Greenbelt 3. I talked to the guy regarding the replacement program and handed him my iPod. According to him, I need to leave my iPod with them so the technician could evaluate if my iPod is abused in any way. Then he started to get some details of me and let me signed an acknowledgement receipt. The technician will inform me the status of my iPod through the contact details I gave them. It will take 6 weeks for the replacement iPod to arrive (if my iPod will pass the technician's evaluation)

I have faith with my iPod, it's still working despite of the scratches all over the unit.
Waiting for updates in the upcoming weeks.

UPDATE 12/29/11

I received a text message from POWER MAC, and here's what it says:
REPAIR UPDATE: The replacement iPod has been ordered from Apple since Dec.15. Please allow 6-8 weeks or more for the replacement iPod to arrive. Please wait for the next update. Thank you for making us your preferred Apple Service Provider. Auto-Gen Message Do not reply.
So that means my iPod will be replaced? Wow. I am now waiting for their next update.

UPDATE 02/14/12

Finally!
Last Saturday, Feb 11, I received a text message from POWER MAC:

Greetings from Power Mac Center Greenbelt3. The replacement iPod has arrived. We are glad to inform you that Apple has decided to replace your 1st Generation iPod Nano with a 6th Generation model. Thank you for making Power Mac Center your preferred Apple Service Provider. Disclaimer: Please be advised that this model is applicable for this batch of replacement. Apple may decide to change the model for the succeeding batch of replacements.
I read the message in the evening, too bad we just got home from Greenbelt. Then the next day, I went to Greenbelt, hoping I could claim my iPod but I wasn't aware that Service Center is closed on Sundays. So again, I went yesterday, and yes, I finally claimed my new iPod

And so from 2GB iPod, I now own a 8GB iPod. Wahaha. I was too excited to put songs on my new iPod (and that's what I'm doing right now)

Thank you Apple.

And for those who still owns a 1st generation iPod Nano, check if your iPod is for replacement. Just visit the site I posted above and put your serial code on the site. You might get a chance to own a new iPod too.
